Organization
IAEA is a non-profit organization promoting the scientific study of all aspects of aesthetics. The goal of the organization is to give scientific research on aesthetics an international forum for discussion and exchange. Organization members employ a wide range of empirical methods from psychology and other social sciences, as well as computational, biological, and neuroscience techniques; these target research questions in traditional aesthetic domains (visual art, music, performing arts), as well as newly emerging domains (video, computer animation), and broader, domain-general or everyday questions on the nature of beauty and aesthetic experiences.
IAEA’s Biennial Congress
The next IAEA Congress will take place on May 6th to 8th, 2026 in Jena, Germany.

Membership
Our membership includes individuals from psychology, neuroscience, sociology, museology, art history, philosophy, musicology, and other domains. Currently we have members in over 20 countries.
